dsc015911today and so I am doing only what I want to do.  I still can’t quite fathom what happened to the month of April…but today is for hassling with blog, taking pictures, studio puttering, and finally a delectable dinner at my favorite French restaurant, La Ferme, here in Genoa.    I went out to the garden this morning, it’s still been too cold to put tender new things in the ground yet, but I have a tiny micro-garden happening in the little greenhouse.  There’s a mole out there too, that Mac the Dog has been diligently trying to dislodge, with no success.  April was consumed with costuming a show, “Journey’s End”, ten WWI military costumes in 2 weeks, I can hardly bear to look at my sewing machine right now.

Getting the words and the pictures where I want them is beyond me.  Consistent wonkiness is all I seem to be accomplishing here.  dsc01585

Living in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada’s is a challenge to a good gardener, of which I am not.  I do my very best, and you’d never know you were in Nevada standing in my yard in the summer.  We just don’t get that much sun, but  have water rights, which, in the desert, is like gold. The seasons are well defined, though there are always surprises. Because winter can seem long, we tend to decorate around the property with permanent things. I took some pictures just a few days ago of some of my favorite winter yard vignettes, after most of the snow from the most recent storm had melted.  I love the green man because he looks exactly like my husband!dsc01295

I just sent a rather large shipment out,  and couldnt resist piling some of it onto my old form. What a load of booty!dsc01314

Learning to blog isn’t the easiest thing I have done lately. I keep trying to get the words to wrap around the pictures, can’t figure out how to put statements into the sidebar, if this is even possible, so I will be in perpetual edit mode once I finally get it. I want to be able to easily promote ArtFire and other people I know, and have yet to meet, without embarassing myself. On, girl! You can do this!

Usually I apply myself to one crafty discipline at a time, however, circumstances well beyond my control have intervened.  Things have been created from the glorious mess, shipments made, and now some time to teach self to blog, and work on photographic skills.  dsc014868
